Transfer Day!
It’s Transfer Day!!
The long awaited transfer day!! It's finally time!! I am so nervous, yet so so excited! I have so many different emotions running through my mind and I can't even begin to explain how I'm feeling. I am so hopeful for the best outcome, but of course I am being cautiously optimistic. I don’t want to get my hopes up. At the end of the day this precious little embryo (embaby as I like to call it) has a 60% chance of making it to a live birth, pretty good odds, right? But I still have a fear of it not working. I only have 5 embabies left and after everything we have gone through, it all just weighs so heavy on my heart. I pray to God this embaby chooses to snuggle up, get cozy, and decide to stay.
Each fear I have comes in steps,
Getting a positive pregnancy test
Getting a positive HCG Blood Test
Praying the second HCG Blood Test doubles in quantity within 48 hours.
Having a healthy ultrasound to confirm viability of the pregnancy.
Having another ultrasound to confirm heartbeat.
Getting healthy NIPT results.
Praying I make it to the second trimester.
Praying I make it to the third trimester
Praying we have a healthy delivery.
I know that regardless of the outcome, I have done literally everything possible to make my odds be the very best they can be., but I have to come to terms with knowing that even though I have done everything in my power, it just simply may not be enough.
I will share everything I have done in hopes that it may help you, too. I truly believe all of the things I do to better my chances. It makes me feel good knowing I am doing all the things!
The first thing I do is obviously take all of the medication prescribed by my reproductive endocrinologist. Which include:
Estrogen 2mg x 3 a day
Progesterone Injection 1ml x 1 day starting 5 days before transfer
Medrol 16mg x 1 day starting 5 days before transfer
Day of transfer
Valium tablet 10mg 1 hour prior to transfer
Once I get cleared for transfer I start drinking:
Pineapple Core & Kale Juice - 1 cup at least
Pomegranate Juice - 1 cup at least
2 Brazil nuts a day
Acupuncture with Moxibustion, and Red Light Therapy.
After my transfer I will without a doubt get some Mcdonald’s French Fries. There is an infertility superstition that basically says eating french fries after transfer will give you good luck. So of course, I don’t take any chances! I’ll be enjoying all the french fries. Lol.
And lastly, on top of all of that I pray. God knows the desires of my heart, and I know he has a plan for me. I truly believe I am on his path, his journey he hand created for me, and I have faith in Him.
“ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:11-12
If you find yourself having a moment of free time today, please send up prayers for us and our little embaby!!
Stay tuned for another post on how I plan to stay busy during the 2 week wait until my pregnancy test!
